Glossybox March 2014
After a long wait, I finally
got my Glossybox! It's wasn't the February Love box
like I had thought, but rather the one for March. Either way, I'm so impressed
with it.
It's a little bit more
expensive than my other beauty boxes, at $21 (plus $5 shipping to Canada), but
the value of the items inside is worth a great deal more. I had loved Glossybox
when it was in Canada, but then it went under, and that was it. Well, Glossybox
US has stepped up their game and started to ship to the great white north so
that everyone can enjoy this great service.
In March, you get five great
surprise products, and at least one of them is a rich hair product. So what was in the
box? Let's check it out!
Ouidad Color Sense Color
Preserving Shampoo and Conditioner
If winter has left your
hair feeling dry, give it some tender lovin' care. This nutritive blend of
apricot oil and honey infuses antioxidants and protects color from fading. Use
the shampoo to remove daily mineral deposits, and the conditioner to protect
against dehydration for healthy-looking radiant hair.
I'm currently trying out a
bunch of new shampoos and this one is at the top of the list. It smells divine
and really does wonders for my curls. The conditioner is so think and marvellous
that it makes my hair feel like it's never had split ends ever.

Orogold Cosmetics 24K
Multi-Vitamin Day Moisturizer
Inspired by the medicinal
benefits of golf throughout history, this luscious day cream contains vitamins,
antioxidants, and yes, pure 24 karat gold, which works to reduce the signs of
aging by plumping and firming skin.
I don't think I've ever used
anything this luxurious. There are real gold flakes inside the moisturizer, but
I feel like that's just a gimmick. The actual cream is so wonderful. Thick and
creamy. It sinks in right away and makes you feel like a million dollars. If I
had $178 I would get this in a heartbeat, but the student life doesn't
accommodate that as well.

Sample size: I had to guess
on this one, but one of my friends suggested that each of these is .25oz...sooo...$52.35

Bellapierre Cosmetics
Cheek&Lip Stain in Pink
For a healthy flush
reminiscent of a spring day spent outdoors, this girly lip and cheek stain
blends seamlessly wherever it is applied. The oil-free, mineral-based formula
is lightweight yet perfectly pigmented.
I've been on the go a ton
this month, so having a product that can do two things is the best thing you
can. I like that this isn't too pigmented (strange, right?) because I'm less
hesitant to use it as a cheek color. I also really like it because you can give
your lips a wash of color without a mirror. The pink is also flattering on so many
different skin tones. Do like.

ModelCo More Brows Eyebrow
Thickening Gel in Medium/Dark
Achieve natural-looking
fuller brows instantly with this quick-dry gel formula that contains hair-like
particles to create the appearance of fuller, more even eyebrows. Perfect for
women with naturally sparse or over-plucked arches, More Brows will take you
into Brook Shields territory in seconds.
Since the big bang cut, I
have been neglecting my brows. They are plucked into the right shape, of
course, but I haven’t been filling them in dutifully. Still, Benefit’s Gimme
Brow intrigued me with its ashy tones and its tiny little brush. I just didn’t
take the plunge. This is such a close dupe though. The dark color is perfect
for me and it has the same tiny little brush that is perfect for getting all
the little hairs. I’ll certainly be spending a little more time getting those
brows tamed.

So Susan Cosmetics Concealer
Quad
This mix-and-match concealer quad has you covered—no matter your skin tone. The hypoallergenic formula stars hydrating virgin marula oil, perfectly covering blemishes and minor imperfections.
This was the last item, finishing off a great box. It’s a little less pigmented than I usually like, but it will be perfect for a lighter makeup day. It also has all the shades you could want. The darker shade, although too dark for my skin tone, makes a pretty good cream contour. Of all the items in the box, this is the one I will probably get the least use out of, and it’s still amazing.
Sample size: $30.95
There as also a bonus item, which was a discount code for a phone case at caseable.com. Mine was worth $5. I don't see myself using it, but if you are in the market for a new custom phone case, there's that.

Total value: $146.29! It only costs $20 to get all that!
This box was great. It’s
made me feel good about subscribing to Glossybox. It’s especially good if you’re
looking for something a little higher end than the ipsy and Birchbox realm of
the world. I’m hoping that next month is as good as this one!
