Glossybox | August 2015
August is upon us, so it is time to pop open another Glossybox!
This box had a lot of things I had never tried before, so there was a lot of
things to get excited about. Let’s get right into it.
Pop Beauty Kajal Pen in
Sooty Black
Whether you want to create a rocker chic
smokey or the classic cat-eye, take your black liner to new heights with this
intensely pigmented kajal pencl. The smudgable, matte formula glides on
effortlessly and can be used alone or over eyeshadow to definre the eye.
The smudger on this broke the first time I used this, so that’s a
bummer. The pencil side is really good though. You have a few minutes to do the
smudging before this stuff sets up. Once the kohl sets, it’s on there all day,
no smudging! I’ve been wearing this on my lower lashline all week and loving
it.

SpaRitual Nail Laquer in
Authentically
Slow down and channel your inner zen with
this creamy polish that delivers a long-lasting manicure with its patented,
specially designed brush. Thanks to its vegan, responsibly sourced ingredients,
SpaRitual is ushering in a healthier way to paint your nails without the
harmful chemicals.
This is one of those nail polishes where I couldn’t decide whether
I liked it or not. It’s shiny, but also matte. It’s so strange. My mom called
it “backlit” and I think that’s a good way to think of it. They have a nice
sheen, but it’s dulled down. I’ve never really worn matte nail polishes, so it
might just be that I’m not used to it. I’ve been wearing it around and I’ve
decided that I like the finish, but it took a while to grow on me. In terms of
wear time, I didn’t want to wear a topcoat with it to preserve the matte
finish, so the wear time has been just average. I got about four days out of it
before I needed to touch it up.

Manna Kadar Cosmetics Lash
Primer
Retire those false lashes and debut a
fierce flutter by adding this lash primer to your beauty routine. Acting as a
base for your mascara, this primer nourishes your lashes to prevent flaking
while ensuring your look stays on from morning to night.
When I got this, I thought that it might be another princess product.
You know, one of those things that you don’t really need and is just luxurious.
I’ve been using this under different and have been super impressed. It has
exceeded all of my expectations. It goes on white, which made me really
apprehensive, but it dries clear. In the morning, I do my eye makeup and put on
this primer, then I do the rest of my face, and by the time I put on my
mascara, the primer is dry. It makes my lashes look amazing. It doubles the
effect of any mascara I have on, and makes my mascara last pretty much forever.
Maybe not super frivolous.

GlamGlow YouthCleanse Daily
Clearing Cleanser
Designed to gently exfoliate, cleanse and
renew skin to create a more youthful, glowing complexion, YOUTHCLEANSE
transforms from a luxurious mud into a gentle and effective foaming lather that
dissolves makeup and impurities and removes dead surface cells.
GlamGlow is one of those things that I’m always excited to get in
a beauty box. It’s a little too expensive for me to justify buying, but I’m
fine using it when it’s given to me for way cheaper. This is a really nice
cleanser for everyday. It’s not too abrasive, so it’s great to use on the days
that I’m not after a heavy exfoliation session. It has that same gross muddy
look as the rest of the line, but it makes your skin look beautiful. Do
recommend.

Lollipops Makeup Lip Balm in
Delicieuse
A summer necessity for the sun-worshipping
goddess in all of us, this lip balm protects against UV rays and pollution with
its paraben-free formula. It is also rich in antioxidants, which include
tepescohuite extract, a Mexican plant known for its regenerative capabilities,
and nutritive macadamia nut oil, so chapped lips will be a thing of the past!
I wasn’t extra thrilled to get this. I have finally realized that
I’m at critical mass when it comes to lip balms. I really can’t handle any more
until I use up or toss some. I tried this one out for the sake of review. I was
really impressed. This is very sweet, almost like coating your lips in
frosting, but not sickly so. It doesn’t have any color to it, but is still
really moisturizing. I’ve been putting this on at night to get my lips ready
for the next day. It seems that you have to order it from France, which is kind
of a bummer.

This is a really good Glossybox. Between the awesomely delicious
lip balm and the GlamGlow…I can use all of these things, which is a real
accomplishment with a subscription box. Glossybox is only $21 a month and is
totally worth it. This box alone is valued at $59.30. It also ships to Canada,
so no worries about whether or not you can get it there either. I definitely
recommend it, and after this box, I’m excited to keep working these things into
my routine!
