Boxycharm | November 2015

I was coming home from work. It had been a long day. I was tired and really in need of a pick-me-up.

And there it was.

This month’s Boxycharm. Waiting for me when I came home.

This month’s theme was Beauty Par-Tea, and all of their marketing was very Alice in Wonderland themed. Super cute. I don’t really think that the products match the theme, but there are five awesome full size things inside.

Luxie Rose Gold Concealer Eye Brush #211

Made without parabens, this vegan makeup brush is specifically handcrafted and coated with antibacterial solution. Soft to the touch and gentle on the skin, this brush gives way to a precise makeup application. Dab your best cream concealer and apply to desired areas.

Full size: $12

This is the second Luxie brush that has come into my possession through a subscription box. All of their claims are true. They are soft and easy to clean, while still never shedding. The shape of this brush isn’t unique. I own three more that are this same shape, so I’m not so impressed with that. I don’t’ have a lot of luck with this shape as a concealer brush, but I like using them as lip brushes, and you can’t have too many of those!

Pur`Lisse Pur`Eye Adore Quadra Benefit Eye Serum

Active ingredients like soy protein and French marina plants bring 4X the power against aging in this intensive eye serum. Works against wrinkles, dark circles, and puffiness, while still hydrating and lifting. Apply day/night after cleansing. Using your ring finger, lightly tap on a small amount of serum to reduce tugging on delicate eye tissue.

Full size: $65

My eyes almost popped out of my head when I saw the price tag on this. I had used a Pur`Lisse eye makeup remover that caused my eyes to swell up and burn so I wasn’t too excited about this. To my surprise, I love this. It does leave your eye area hydrated and refreshed. I’ve been using it day and night for the past few days and it’s been fantastic. Do recommend.

Manna Kadar’s Liplocked Priming Gloss Stain

The latest innovation in lip stains. Smooth application keeps lips hydrated with a pigment that lasts for hours. Contains vitamin A, E, and berry extracts. Sweep the applicator wand onto lips. The perfect primer and lip stain all in one!

Full size: $24

I’m on the fence about this. It goes on very smoothly, and lasts around 4 hours, so it’s firmly in the average expected time category. The color is pretty close to ones that I already wear regularly. It doesn’t really stain or dry down though. It’s more of a general lip gloss. My biggest qualm, I suppose, is the price. I love love love my Revlon Balm Stains, and those are so affordable, and they’re frankly better than this. I probably wouldn’t buy this over any of the many other options out there.

Coolway Leave-In Treatment

For beautiful, hydrated and shiny hair with no split ends. Use anytime to boost moisture. Spray generously onto dry or damp hair and blow dry or style as desired.

Full size: $19.95

I’m not a fan of Coolway. I think their straighteners are gimmicky and that their products don’t work. This had a tendency to weigh down my hair, which I wasn’t big on. It also leaked during shipping and icked up the box a bunch. Not so much a fan.

StudioMakeup Soft Blend Blush in Sahara

Silky smooth texture and highly pigmented for long-wear. This blush provides natural looking color and contour instantly brightens the look of the face. Sweep over any area where the sun naturally hits your face.

Full size: $17

I like this blush a lot. It’s a color that I don’t own, which is a bonus. It has a really finely-milled texture which makes it incredibly easy to blend. Can you put it anywhere the sun hits your face? No. Not unless you want a pink face. It’s also way too red to contour with. I love it as a blush, but it’s just a blush. Don’t try to stretch it into a contour.

L-R: Sahara Blush, Manna Kadar Lip Gloss, Purlisse Eye Cream, Coolway Leave In Treatment
Four hits, one miss! This was a great box for me. I’m happy with Boxycharm. Their customer service has been awesome about my leaking Coolway hair goop, and their boxes are totally worth the money.

This box was worth a total of $137.95, and cost me $21 shipped to my door. If you’d like to give on a try, you can check them out here. You won’t regret it!
