Allure August 2018

As promised, here is a breakdown of my Allure August Box! They released spoilers to pretty much all of the months for the rest of the year, and I'll admit it sounds great. Next month there's supposed to be a fullsize MAC lipstick, so I'm so jazzed. 

Alright, given that there's big stuff on the way, this month's box was a little underwhelming. 

Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet - $15 (sample size)

The full size of this bad boy retails for $39, which is a lot for me to put down on a moisturizer. It has a weird sort of herbally smell that I don't care for, but it does leave my skin delightfully moisturized. I'll use this sample, but I imagine I won't repurchase. I also take offense to it being a sorbet rather than just a moisturizer. It's not special. 

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner - $22 (full size)

I like Eyeko liners. They go on black and stay put. All the things that I need! I would like this better if it was a teeny bit more matte. It goes on with some shine, and that's not really my first choice. I also would like it if the felt tip was smaller, but it definitely works!

Laritzy Cosmetics Light Stix in Halo - $24 (full size)

This is a brand that I had not heard of, until I opened up this box. I was so pleasantly surprised by this highlighter. I am not really a fan of similar sticks, like Benefit's Watts Up, so I was doubly surprised by this thing. It slides on smooth and looks incredibly natural but beautiful. I've been using this every day an will continue to do so. 

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask - $3 (sample size)

This sample is teeny tiny! I mean, it's a lip balm. You put it on, lips get softer. Surprise! It has a not-too-artificial strawberry smell, but it's just a lip balm. I wouldn't pay $20 for the full size version. 

Nexxus Karaphix Damage Healing Shampoo and Conditioner - $6.87 for both (sample size)

I am majorly not a fan of the intense floral smell that this gives off. It is very gentle, and doesn't make my hair feel too clean. The conditioner is less interesting to me. It feels very heavy, and I feel like it weighs my hair down and doesn't make it look great. Being that we are not in a humidity-rich area, it's just things I don't need.
