The Lip Balm That Saved My Face
I have been really on the hunt for a new lip balm. I’ve gotten a whole bunch from various beauty boxes, but nothing does it for me like a good drugstore lip balm does. I recently found Lypsyl, in the Original Mint flavor, and it’s the #1 bestseller in Sweden! I haven’t left home without it since I got it.
We recently took a long vacation through the Southwest US. I’ll admit, I was not taking care of myself. We were camping and hiking, so I was really punishing my body and especially my skin. I didn’t do any of my usual skincare routine, and that included making sure I was wearing a good lip balm. I came home with chapped lips that would crack and bleed (TMI, I know). They burned all the time. Mistakes were made.
Enter Lypsyl. Two days and my lips are back to normal. It’s like nothing I’ve ever seen. It has shea butter, coconut oil, and beeswax to heal and protect while still moisturizing, which is what I experienced 100%. This balm is the best when you need fast results. The application is smooth and silky, and I can feel it protecting my lips for a couple of hours before I feel like I need to put more on. Bonus fact? Not tested on animals, ever.
This is minty, so I was initially concerned that it would irritate my already sensitive skin. Nope! It has a slight tingling sensation when I first apply it, but it isn’t too strong at all. It’s more refreshing than overwhelming, which is a delicate balance when it comes to strong scents.
I also love the packaging. I have a thing for bees. There’s the cutest little bee slider on the side to move the balm up and down, and it’s in a convenient oval shape that covers down the whole of my lips in one swipe. There’s also another cute little bee on the cap.
If you want this too, you can get it for the totally reasonable price of $2.99 at Walmart or Meijer’s (we don’t have those here, though ☹). That low price is going to be great as we move into fall and winter. It’s freezing and dry in Montana, so I’m all about stashing lip balms everywhere. Less than three dollars? I’m going to keep these everywhere.
Your turn! What’s your favorite drug store lip balm?
