NYX HD Concealer
Recently, I was kicking around the Ulta, on a hunt for the perpetually sold-out Tarte Shape Tape in Light...which I will have one day. Of course, they didn’t have it, but I was getting pretty desperate for some concealer. I spotted the NYX HD Photogenic Concealer, mostly because it was on sale. Even at full retail, this baby is only $4.99. I figured, hey, it’s only five bucks, and I can’t get the one I want anyway.
My primary use of concealer is for...drum roll...concealing. I don’t use it for highlighting or contouring like many people I know do, so my main thing for concealer is high coverage and a natural finish. This concealer has both. Now that I know I love it, there are also some color correcting shades that I think I might look into.
It’s extra blendable and never cakey. It’s also the rare consistency that is easy to blend with fingers, a brush, or a beauty blender. The only thing that I don’t really like is the applicator. The doe foot is a pretty standard concealer applicator, but the applicator holds so much product. It’s easy to goop it on without thinking when I’m in a hurry or not paying attention. Especially because the product is so high-coverage, this can be a problem.
Overall, I’m still waiting on my Tarte Shape Tape, but this is a great concealer (and at a good price) while I’m waiting for them to finally restock. Someday, right?
