Allure October 2018

Unlike last month, I had no idea what was coming in this month’s Allure box. Last month was fantastic, so I went in with high expectations. Here’s what was in the September beauty box, that ALL subscribers received.

Hourglass Caution Extrame Lash Mascara in Ultra Black - $10.54 (sample size)

I’ve tried out this mascara a few itmes now. I have super oily lashes, so it’s hard for me to find a mascara that I like. This one stays put, which I like. It can look a little clumpy. I’d like for it to be less clump-tacular and more volumizing, but it’s still a great mascara, and I’ll use it up.

Sunday Riley Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment - $17.50 (sample size)

This sample is tiny. It’s just 5mL, so it’s only good for a coupe of uses, unfortunately. I’ve only used this once, because I’ve been using other acid products, and you can’t use them too often. I find this really average, so I don’t think I’d pay the $105 pricetag. Again, I’ll use it up, but that’s it.

Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip Cleanser - $7 (sample size)

Two Sunday Rileys this month! This is a wonderful cleanser. My skin doesn’t feel dry or tight after using this, and I love it. My favorite thing is also that it doesn’t have a scent. At all. It’s not as dumb expensive as most of the products for SR, so I’m happy with it.

Yves Saint Laurent Tatouage Couture Matte Liquid Lip Stain in Nude Emblem - $18.59 (sample size)

As far as liquid lipsticks go, this is pretty good. It’s a dusty rose color that I like to wear already, and it dries to a very nice matte finish. It doesn’t wear for too long…just about 4 hours, but it wears off nicely. I like it and will use it up. I don’t know if I’ll buy another, mostly because of the nearly $40 cost. That’s crazy.

Caudalie Vinopure Skin Perfecting Serum - $16.33 (sample size)

I like Caudalie. I think they make good products. I have been using their skincare off and on for about 7 years. This serum is very nice. It has a gentle cooling effect and a minty scent. I don’t know about skin perfecting, but it does feel nice, and leaves my skin feeling moisturized.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream - $6 (sample size)

This is actually something I already use and love! It’s the gold standard moisturizer in my skincare routine. I’ll be tossing this into my travel bag.

bkr Paris Water Balm - $8.46 (sample size)

I didn’t realize that bkr made things that weren’t waterbottles. Apparently in full-size, this is designed to be the lid to one of their glass bottles. I have one of these and love it, but this lip balm…is just a lip balm. $22 is massively steep for what it is, but if you already bought the $54 water bottle, what’s another $22?
