Origins Voxbox Review
One of the best websites out there for just anyone is Influenster. It’s seriously the bomb dot com. Anyone can sign up, and every so often, I get an email for a survey that gives you the chance to receive a “Voxbox” of totally free goodies! This happened recently for me, and I was sent a cool bunch of products from Origins. If you want to sign up for Influenster, you can check it out here!
This Voxbox was to launch the Origins A Perfect World line. I will say that I am surprised that none of the samples in the Voxbox came from this line. I’m not sure what the point of sending the samples was, in that case. The samples were also…tiny. I’m not going to complain about free stuff. I was super grateful to be part of this box, but it is kind of disappointing that it arrived at my door and had nothing from the new launch, and the samples were teensy. There was also an invite to an event at an Origins store near me! I was a little more excited about that…except that all the facials that they advertised as being “just for Influensters!” were booked up. Oh well, some disappointment there.
As for the samples, they are all some of Origins bestsellers. First is the GinZing Eye Cream, which I received in my Sephora Play a few months ago. I like it, and I am still working on my Sephora sample, but then I’ll use this one. The scent on this is very strong, so you should think about that before buying. I was also sent the matching GinZing Moisturizer. I like this. It has the same strong smell as the Eye Cream, which is a nice citrus-ginger. I’ve been fishing around for a new every day moisturizer, and I think this might be it. For my dry skin, it provided just enough moisturizer, but it might be too much if you’re a little oilier.
Next is the Clear Improvement Purifying Charcoal Mask. I hated that this didn’t have any directions on the package, or on any of the cards that were in the box. After some googling, I tried it out, leaving it on until it dried down. This took around 15 minutes. It also didn’t really do anything. I really need my face masks to work right away, and this didn’t. I’ll give it another shot, but I don’t think that this one is destined to be my favorite.
One of my favorites in the box was the Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash. I used this in the shower after I had left my makeup on a little too long. IT makes my skin feel soft and clean, but not dry. I would use this one again.
Finally, I received the High Potency Night-A-Mins Renewal Cream. This is meant to be used right before bed as your all-in-one night cream. This does feel really rich. It’s very thick, and goes on thick on the face. On the one hand, my skin felt awesome. So much moisture in the morning when I woke up! I really think I was glowing. On the other, it definitely broke me out along my chin.
So yeah. Some winners, some losers. I’ll be going to the launch event, and if anything interesting happens I’ll let you know! It is open to the public…so you can check locations and times here!
